  Job Description

  The Director of US Oncology Congress Strategy is responsible for developing and executing congress strategy for tier 1 and 2 congresses across franchises and brands. In partnership with brand marketing, medical, Kite, and cross-functional partners, this role is responsible for defining the strategy, setting congressional goals, budgeting, and executing on top US oncology congresses. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Franchise Marketing is based either in Foster City, California, or Parsippany, New Jersey. Specific job duties include:

  Global Congress Strategy

  Design and deliver the US congress strategy across Gilead Oncology & Kite Oncology for all indications across key Tier 2 Oncology congresses, including periodic mapping of key Oncology meetings.

  Plan Gilead Oncology's presence at Tier 1 US Oncology Congresses in collaboration with the Oncology Congress Center of Excellence team.

  Lead cross-functional congress core teams, including key commercial and medical leads and other key stakeholder teams and vendor partners, to develop and implement key franchise congress strategy, goals, KPIs, and identify strategic opportunities to showcase Gilead and Kite Oncology at Oncology congresses.

  Scope includes the selection of congresses, development of overall congress strategy and objectives, managing sponsorship commercial presence, and facilitating the execution of internal and customer-facing activities at the congress in collaboration with other functions.

  Collaborating with Stakeholder engagement leads to ensuring a One Gilead Oncology voice.

  Deliver Leadership Check-Ins and prepare internal congress attendees on pre- and post-congress activities.

  Create a process and partner with Kite on strategy and execution of appropriate congresses.

  Develop materials, overall booth look-and-feel and align across brands/stakeholders, and promotional review committee (PRC) approvals.

  Manage budget, staff, vendor partners, and cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.

  Collaborate with Regional Marketing Teams and Matrix partners on select regional Tier 2 conferences.

  Basic Qualifications:

  Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years' Experience

  OR

  Masters' Degree and Ten Years' Experience

  OR

  Ph.D. and Eight Years' Experience

  Preferred Qualifications

  10+ years of biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry experience may include prior medical communications, MSL, brand marketing or field sales experience in hematology/oncology.

  Thorough understanding/prior experience in the hematology / oncology clinical landscape and product/new indication launches.

  Prior experience in leading congress presence strategies for biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical companies including exhibit and content development.

  Oncology experience a plus.

  Advanced interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to independently lead high-visibility strategic projects across brands and translate strategies into defined resource needs, tactics and metrics to achieve results.

  Demonstrated ability to lead with tact and influence in a fast-paced, matrixed global biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical organization. Strategic, a strong planner and a driver of collaboration and execution by the team.

  Excellent verbal / written communication skills. Experience working with senior/executive management to clearly and concisely present strategies and plans for endorsement.

  The salary range for this position is: $221,170.00 - $286,220.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
