　　Director Global Direct Sourcing (d/f/m)

　　In this responsible role, you will be directly responsible for the local purchasing strategy for Leica's production sites in Mannheim and Wetzlar and will also be responsible for managing the purchasing strategy at the production site in Singapore. You will work with your team to develop reliable suppliers, ensuring the supply of materials while meeting the given quality and delivery targets, while reducing the costs associated with procurement. In this position, you will report directly to the Vice President Global Operations.

　　YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

　　Define the purchasing strategy for each commodity group, taking into account the strategic guidelines developed by Leica and Danaher.

　　Initiating innovation projects and analysing commodity category technology trends, leading global strategic initiatives to secure the long-term supply of materials, contributing to global Danaher initiatives in the field of direct sourcing.

　　Analysing and optimising the supplier base by selecting new suppliers and developing existing ones with a focus on quality, delivery performance and costs.

　　Independent negotiation and agreement of contracts as well as execution of annual price negotiations and implementation of the necessary supply contracts.

　　Carrying out a regular supplier evaluation in cooperation with scheduling and quality assurance, including the implementation of material relocations / supplier changes.

　　Analysis of all cost elements of the purchased products/services in order to optimize the total cost of ownership (TCO) as well as management of purchase price differences and savings projects.

　　Planning, management and evaluation of employees as well as development of the team .

　　Preparation of reports and preparation of purchasing-relevant data for system maintenance according to process specifications.

　　YOUR PROFILE

　　Completed economics or technical studies or comparable training

　　Many years of professional experience in the areas of strategic sourcing and supplier management, ideally further experience along the supply chain including material planning for production

　　International leadership experience as well as experience in project management

　　Strong understanding of manufacturing/product and logistics of the entire supply chain as well as expertise in contract management

　　Very good knowledge of SAP R/3 modules MM/PP as well as very good Excel skills

　　Fluent in English and German

　　Willingness to travel 30-40%
