  Our fun and collaborative North BC team is seeking a Director, North BC, located in Fort St. John, to lead our team from a business development and strategic standpoint. This role will coordinate and collaborate with other geomatics divisions and develop strategies, plans and programs to maintain and expand the North BC business.

  This position will significantly impact external clients and internal team members and therefore needs to be collaborative and embody GeoVerra’s Vision, Mission and, Values through actions and results.

  What you will do:

  Partner with internal and industry experts to grow North BC business.

  Contact potential clients to establish rapport, build relationships and identify and pursue new sales leads.

  Develop a growth and market strategy with financial forecasts and various plans such as, talent, sales, operating plans, etc.

  Lead your team to achieve the growth strategy goals and objectives.

  Drive the strategy from conception to completion, with primary efforts focused on project delivery excellence, financial performance, sales growth, and adherence to the business line’s overall strategic plan.

  Optimize the performance of the market sub-sector operations, including project margin, staff utilization, DSO, and indirect costs.

  Attend relevant meetings as required to address project performance.

  Forecasts the region’s financial performance, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and preparation of monthly/ quarterly/annual forecast reports.

  Effectively lead PMs to ensure successful delivery on contractual commitments and financial targets for the market project portfolio, and to mitigate project performance issues and risks, to meet client expectations and to achieve or exceed profitability targets.

  Communicate with clients and internal team members to ensure timely flow of information, actions, deliverables, timelines and budgets.

  Ensure active project management and project support in the North BC region.

  Be the last line of defense to effectively problem solve issues as they arise and resolve any client concerns.

  Works closely with other Directors, Geospatial team, and shared services to ensure effective resource sharing and workload/resource balancing.

  Collaborate with other regions to share resources when required and for cross-selling.

  Manage and develop employees in accordance with GeoVerra core values, the performance management program and the job architecture.

  Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to help attract, hire and onboard new employees and work closely with the HR team to continue to engage and retain team members.

  Visibly champion the GeoVerra quality, safety, and ethics & compliance programs to ensure they are embedded in our culture.

  Actively contribute toward maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and for those working with you.

  What you will bring:

  10+ years of previous leadership experience in Geomatics and Land Surveying, with 2+ in strategic leadership and 5+ years of people management.

  BCLS Designation.

  Proven Business Development and client relationship focus.

  Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with people at all levels in the organization.

  Aptitude to support and mentor/teach other members of the team.

  Competence to work without supervision with effective time management and strong organizational skills.

  Strong analytical skills and attention to detail and be results oriented.

  Keen awareness of scope, budget, and primary tasks to maintain project schedules.

  Drive, energy, and an enthusiasm for completing projects and tasks.

  Skilled in relationship management, to maintaining and leveraging relationships with key stakeholders.

  Expert at identifying innovative and creative strategies and practices that further business objectives; Adaptable and able to think outside the box.

  Skilled at challenging others to constantly improve and innovate.
