GENERAL SUMMARY:
Direction of the day-to-day functions summarized herein in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations, guidelines and standards that govern the Hospital in keeping with the stated mission of the hospital. As a member of the Leadership team, the Director of Finance participates in formulating policy and in devising procedures essential to the achievement of objectives as well as developing and implementing organization plans.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for Assisting the CFO with organization and management of assigned departments, administration and program development.
· Manages established programs and policies of the Southeast Region General Accounting Office.
· Participates in monthly financial close.
· Assists in the preparation and filing of the Medicare and Medicaid prior year cost reports annually.
· Collaborates with Southeast Region General Accounting Office to ensure service standards and needs are met.
· Provides active feedback and assists in the development of the Regional Accounting.
· Develops, implements and assists managers/directors in utilizing systems and reports to ensure departments function within budgeted guidelines.
· Performs delegated functions in compliance with hospital and departmental policies.
· Manages the development of the annual operating budget.
· Collaborates with Southeast Region General Accounting Office to ensure regular and timely balance sheet reconciliation are complete.
· Assists CFO in adhering to improving financial performance, improving EBDITA and net operating margins.
· Participates is AHS designated meetings.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate with all hospital contacts.
· Must possess basic typing skills, computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
· Must be self-motivated.
· Must manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments.
· Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
· Must be well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelors Degree; Accounting, Business Administration or Health Administration
· 5 years of experience in financial activities/re
