The Opportunity:
Everyday Health Pregnancy & Parenting is seeking a Director of Commerce Content Strategy for What to Expect and BabyCenter. This role is responsible for developing and implementing impactful strategies that will grow revenue and audience for each brand's shopping content, which includes best-of buying guides, sale coverage, trends, and more. The Director will oversee a team of in-house editors and freelance writers, and will manage a dynamic, performance-driven content calendar, with content that is highly optimized for organic search. This person will also work closely with our product, growth marketing, and audience teams to optimize and grow other content distribution channels such as push notifications, mobile app experiences, emails, and more. The ideal candidate is a seasoned content leader with a proven track record of growing audience and revenue for digital publishers. This role reports to the GVP, Content & Brand Solutions and also works closely with the Chief Growth Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage BabyCenter and What to Expect content production and programming, leveraging insights, data, and audience trends to meet aggressive revenue, engagement, and traffic goals while maintaining brand integrity and editorial standards.Create and maintain a commerce content calendar that takes into account factors such as seasonality, revenue potential, competitor performance, search position, shopping holidays, and more. Define and implement a system for updating high-value content to ensure it maintains or grows search traffic.Lead brainstorms, dig into data, and develop strategic insights to help us understand 1) what content is most efficiently converting readers into purchasers, and why, and 2) what products and services are interested in right now, and how to capitalize on that.Track performance of commerce content daily, monitoring gains and losses and directing commerce content team to act when necessary.Collaborate with social/video teams to grow social commerce, including hiring and managing freelance resources to support product-focused video production.Collaborate with product and growth marketing on new audience and traffic drivers for commerce content, such as emails, push notifications, and mobile app experiences.Work with product team to optimize our content templates to drive SEO discovery and conversion.Identify new avenues for distributing and monetizing commerce content.Requirements:
8+ years of experience working on or with editorial teams, with a focus on commerce content; 3+ years of experience managing a teamDeep experience with SEO, Audience Development, and Content Strategy Thorough knowledge of Google's Product Review GuidelinesPrevious experience leading teams for an affiliate publisher or a pregnancy/parenting publisher a big plusStrong editorial judgment and content packaging skillsMust have a proven track record of leveraging affiliate revenue and audience data to inform content and distribution strategy Experience collaborating with product and marketing teams; experience with mobile apps a plusOur Culture and Values:

Compensation for this business unit specific role is based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, as well as business & company performance.
