For more than 70 years Mercy Medical Center Redding has offered comprehensive health care in the North State providing acute care and a full range of medical services. The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care Stroke Care Orthopedics Neurological Surgery Comprehensive Cancer Care Maternity Care and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County. In addition the hospital’s network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice and Dignity Health Connected Living. Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Provides daily and strategic administrative oversight and operational control for the assigned Cardiovascular departments Implements monitoring in the fiscal management of the department. Manages department budget within fiscal year approved targets. Explores and initiates revenue enhancement activities such as program development.
Responsibilities:
Assures departmental competency and compliance to all regulatory, accreditation and hospital standards of care.
Prepares and justifies annual budgeting including, anticipates realistic volume trends, maintains effective staffing and leadership development plans, determines productive and non-productive expenditures, determines and prioritizes capital expedites and determines non-labor expense requirements justified.
Implements control in fiscal management of the department, manages department budget within fiscal year approved targets, explores and initiates revenue enhancement activities such as program development.
Develops, implements and monitors department safety management programs which includes Workers' Compensation, patient safety and written safety procedures.
Knowledge of and ability to manage a cardiac catheterization laboratory's operations, including monitoring the development, interpretation and application of laboratory services and programs and operational policies and procedures.
Knowledge of key business concepts relevant to the healthcare function; the ability to balance business needs with patient care priorities.
Qualifications
Experience/Education:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a related field. Minimum of three (3) years of management experience.
Master's degree in Nursing or related health care discipline required and/or additional job related experience in lieu of the degree
Licensure:
R.N. or RT-AHA healthcare license preferred; ACLS and BLS preferredPay Range
$62.51 - $90.64 /hour
