Job Summary As a Directional Drill Laborer/Groundman, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. Assists crew in daily task of excavation, trenching and installing Fiber Optic Cable. This is an entry-level position that will include training and testing within the first 90 days of employment. Daily tasks will include but not be limited to, digging trenches/holes with shovel, gathering, and storing tools, greasing equipment, maintaining a clean and safe work zone. Responsibilities Work in outdoor utility construction sites Build and maintain aerial and underground cable systems Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field Learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment Qualifications Safety is a part of your day to day You want to learn the telecom construction trade to advance your career Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, etc. You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team Ability to do physically demanding tasks. Able/willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Able to work extended hours and some weekends and holidays when required Travel Details for Seasonal Hires: Monday through Friday travel expected. Per diem 5 days a week. 50+ hours per week. Overtime applies after 40 hours per week.
