　　The Direct Support Professional provides support and skills training to people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting and within the community.

　　Palmer-House 2 is the bustling home to five lovely ladies and five entertaining gentlemen. A Residential Specialist working at this residence supports and encourages these amazing people in many areas of their lives, as they strive to achieve their personal goals and desires, providing interaction and choices for activities that support a meaningful day. Residential Specialists will also provide assistance with daily life skills, including personal hygiene. At House 2, it is helpful for Residential Specialists to have experience working with the geriatric population and those who are medically frail. If you are patient and compassionate, and truly have a genuine desire to support and enrich the lives of others, you will be a welcome addition to the House 2 team.

　　A high school diploma or GED is desired. Post-high-school education in Human Services is a definite plus. An acceptable NYS driver's license and basic computer knowledge are a must. An informative, paid new hire orientation is provided in a comfortable learning environment. Training will also include Van Certification, SCIP, First Aid/CPR, and Medication Administration certification.

　　HOURS: 40/Saturday through Wednesday/3:00 pm to 11:00 pm

　　STARTING SALARY: $ 21.51 to $ 23.47 per hour, for working at this location (which includes a $2.00 per hour differential over the Palmer Full-Time DSP base salary range of $ 19.51 to $ 21.47), plus applicable shift differentials may be added.
