Wister Street provides a therapeutic residental environment for individuals with with seriouss and persistent mental health illness who have some history of the forensic involvement. This transitional progam helps individuals learn social, emotionall, behavioral and the life skills to faciliate independence, enabling the individual to move to a permanent living situation.The Direct Support Professional is responsible for safety and supervision of our consumers with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Behavioral health histories to facilitate healthy and socially acceptable behaviors while living in community-based sites. This position will coordinate with clinical staff, implement residentially based interventions and assist the clients in achieving their clinical assignments. The DSP is responsible for fulfilling the obligations as outlined in the client's program plan. The DSP will prompt or assist, as necessary, to ensure the clients participate in the activities of daily living, in both the home and the community. Responsibilities/Duties
Provide Counseling and Crisis Intervention Management to residentsAssist with Medication Monitoring and ManagementDocumenting progress of goal plans utilizing program approved documentsSupport in community intergration Required Experience1 year experience working with individuals with mental health challenges Required EducationHigh School Diploma or GED Required Qualifications

This transitional program helps individuals learn social, emotional, behavioral, and the the life skills to faciliate independenc, enabling the individual to move to a permanent living situation.RHD employees and programs in the City of Philadelphia are required to follow the COVID vaccine mandate. Revised PDPH guidance allows for new hires to be partially vaccinated at the time of hire. This means they have received at least one shot in a two-dose series or a single dose in a one-dose series before beginning in-person shifts. The final dose must be received within4 weeks of hire (start date). This currently does not include boosters.
