Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and sustaining a global approach for Maintenance, Asset Management and Replacement Strategy, and Materials, Repairs and Operations inventory management. You will drive strategies and initiatives to successful execution and will assure achieving given targets in particular risk mitigation and indirect expenditures and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive best practices and optimize facilities and equipment repairs and maintenance. This role will report to Sr. Dir, Engineering, Capital Planning & Asset Management.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for optimizing West Engineering and Facility assets through the Lifecycle Asset & Maintenance program including developing and implementing the governance processResponsible for Global Maintenance, Calibration, Reliability, Safety and Risk Engineering Strategy, Initiatives for all Engineering Assets including the replacement and life extension strategyDirect, maintain & sustain value to maintenance, calibration and spare parts management program include business ownership of the Computerized Maintenance Management System processesOptimize plant shutdown initiatives throughout the network and ensure consistency across the sitesResponsible for Global Maintenance Documentation (Standards, SOPs, Guidelines, best practices) in driving best practices following Good Engineering and Good Manufacturing PracticesAccountable for monitoring and measuring success and communicating to key stakeholders including site and value stream leadershipDrive the annual Maintenance Capex budget process along with periodic reviews and measuresApply reliability engineering principles to achieve increase uptime and process capability across the network as well as drive creation and implementation of Global Spare Parts Management programLead SAP PM projects for Global Engineering, work with the sites and the Engineering Network, being stakeholder in the SAP PM Project teamYou keep current on all relevant technological advancements and developments in the industry, and act as a technical expertManage a team of committed employees and ensure that they execute their tasks in accordance with Safety, Health and Environmental standards. You are responsible for the motivation and management of the teamYou provide technical training and coaching to team members in order to ensure the competence and quality of the maintenance functionsPrepare reports as may be required by ensuring reporting data is accurate and completeOther duties as assignedBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with preference Engineering or equivalent technical field experienceA minimum of 10 years' exp rience in Maintenance, Engineering with at least 5 years of global team managementTrack record of leading teams and building effective working relationships both internally and externally.Proven experience in managing cross-functional projectsAbility to work with senior leadership teams at manufacturing sites and global headquartersDemonstrated experience managing difficult engineering challenges and communicating with peers, subordinates and superiors on technical issuesSelf-starter and independent worker with proficiency in English. An additional language would be a plusPreferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Master's in engineering or equivalent technical field experienceProficient with Microsoft Office suite software and project management softwareAdvanced working knowledge of maintenance SystemsAble to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job DescriptionSupport and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set targetAble to comply with the company's safety policy at all timesWorking knowledge of applicable federal and international regulations such as 21CFR Parts 210, 211 preferred.  GLP and GMP experience preferredKnowledge of Safety standards including CE, OSHA and other similar applicable standards based on regional requirementsAble to always comply with the company's quality policy.The job holder is aware of his/her special responsibility for quality according to the company's quality policy and conducts his/her activities in accordance with the company quality policy at all timesThe job holder respects all specifications arising from the cGMP requirements and from the specifications DIN ISO 15378 and DIN EN ISO 9001 as per its current state and also as it applies to any future amendmentsTravel Requirements:Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time, including internationallyPhysical and Mental Requirements:Sedentary - exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to life, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are metProven ability to work in a virtual environment in a global organization and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmentMake independent and sound judgments.Multitask, work under time constraints, problem solve, and prioritize.Excellent communicator with ability to maintain confidentiality and resolve conflicts and ambiguity.Read and interpret data, information and documents to analyze and solve problems.Learn and apply new information and new skills.West is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company.
