  Summary:

  The Executive Director has overall operational management responsibility of the hospitality home Gary’s House in accordance with the Mission and Values of Gary’s House and Northern Light Health. The incumbent focuses on optimal day to day guest services, facilities management, building community partnerships, and collaborating on all marketing and development initiatives with the Development Office. The Executive Director is also responsible for training and management of all Gary’s House volunteers as well as housekeeping. This position develops and implements plans to achieve strategic goals aligned with the organization in addition to managing annual budget and guest tracking. The incumbent performs duties in accordance with performance standards. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee, and organizational proprietary information, and must handle and protect the information in accordance with hospital and system policies, HIPAA requirements, and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, and other security risks to the organization. The incumbent is accountable for employee safety and will attend safety and loss-control training, engage in injury prevention, perform accident and injury investigations including conducting root cause analysis, and assist in returning employees to regular duty. The incumbent is responsible for participating in and completing all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position, and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of the Hospital.

  Responsibilities:

  Communicates and enforces the system-wide Corporate Compliance program for Northern Light Health.

  Reports any potential or real ethical, legal or regulatory violations to the Corporate Compliance Officer.

  Assists with investigations into alleged violations, and the development and implementation of disciplinary and/or corrective action as indicated.

  Continually assesses the department for compliance with all federal, state, local and other regulatory (The Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS etc.) requirements.

  Completes annual staff training.

  Understands and upholds the Mission and Values of Northern Light Health, and Gary’s House. Represents Gary’s House to the community as a program affiliated with the Hospital and serving broadly to all patient families in any area healthcare facilities. Maintains good relations with neighbors and maintains a positive image to community.

  Educates all associated with the programs to both the history and the plans for the future.

  Manages the operations of Gary’s House. Coordinates and evaluates the daily operations being cognizant of safety and security of the house and guests at all times.

  Works collaboratively with other departments to coordinate support services as appropriate.

  Ensures Gary’s House complies with all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.

  Oversees budget, monthly reports, and oversees all capital facility needs.

  Responsible for managing and tracking the monthly guest rent, donations and occupancy.

  Responsible for developing and implementing affiliate strategic goals and measurements.

  Assists in recruitment, training and management of volunteers.

  Performs or coordinates all required housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment for all guests and visitors to the house.

  Oversees all guest family registrations, check-ins and acts as a resource for any guest needs in accordance with house policy.

  Ensures all volunteers and guests are familiar with emergency plans.

  Maintains all guest materials, volunteer training materials, and safety manual. Develops and implements additional resources or updates as necessary.

  Regularly attends monthly Leadership Council meetings and Mission Division meetings.

  Participates as a member of Gary’s House Special Events Committee and attends all meetings. Serves on other committees as requested or assigned.

  Works collaboratively with Development Office on all marketing and fundraising plans and activities for Gary’s House. Actively cultivates and solicits prospective and current donors for sponsorships or individual gifts from assigned prospect lists.

  Assists Development Office when appropriate with other initiatives, such as annual fund appeals, articles for publications, special events, and grant-writing.

  Works collaboratively with stakeholders, community services, and area businesses to ensure awareness and growth of both donor and volunteer base. Develops key partnerships with area providers and local businesses.

  Educates the public to the needs of affiliates by making presentations to healthcare providers, community clubs, civic and church groups.

  Performs additional duties as required or assigned.
