Action for Boston Community Development is anonprofit human services organization that each year provides more than100,000 low income residents in the Greater Boston region with the toolsand resources needed to transition from poverty to stability and fromstability to success. The Digital Navigator provides assistance toclients who need information and/or access to affordable internetservice, affordable internet-capable devices, and/or coaching inintroductory digital skills to become effective internet users. TheDigital Navigator\'s work is part of ABCD\'s efforts to ensure equitableinternet access for client populations. Duties Include: Receive, return,or initiate contact with clients in need of information regardingaffordable internet and other digital services. Discuss with each clienttheir internet access or need for internet access, technologyexperiences, and other digital devices. Assess clients\' access totechnology, customer digital skill level pertaining to what the customerneeds to accomplish their connectivity needs and internet usepriorities. Advise clients about free or affordable internet serviceoptions for which they may qualify, assist customers in their efforts toapply for affordable internet service, and support their efforts tosecure service. Advise clients about sources of affordable computers orother internet for which they may qualify, and support their efforts toacquire appropriate devices, and where they can obtain assistance forcomputer/device repair. Coach clients, as necessary and appropriate, inthe use of internet services to meet their internet use priorities. Thismay include referral to sources of additional digital literacy skilltraining. Track each interaction including clients\' progress in meetingtheir stated objectives keeping accurate and timely records, and reportoutcomes as required. Assist in the delivery of the MassHire Metro NorthCareer Center Google Certificate Program. Perform other related dutiesas assigned from time to time. Job Qualifications: A Minimum of HighSchool Diploma, or equivalent, required. Up to 12 months of experiencerequired. Experience working in a career center, call center, retailenvironment, or other related field is preferred, but not required.Ability to provide excellent customer service, establish appropriateboundaries with customers, and to demonstrate innovation andflexibility. Demonstrated ability to work sensitively with people fromdiverse backgrounds and manage high stress situations whiledemonstrating sound decision making.
