San Luis Garbage, a Waste Connections company, is now hiring for a safety conscious D ies el Mechanic to join the team at our hauling location in San Luis Obispo, CA!

　　The starting pay rate will be $25-35/hour, depending on experience. The pay range for this job category is $25-42/hour. We also offer regular wage increases, great family benefits, and stable, year round work.

　　The schedule will be Tuesday - Saturday ------ 1pm-9:30pm Tues-Fri and 6am-2:30pm on Sat.

　　Responsibilities Include:

　　Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines

　　Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes along with minor and major repairs from A/C, hydraulics, electrical, welding, engine replacement, transmissions, etc.

　　Interprets diagnostic test results accurately

　　Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans in our system

　　Collaborates with other diesel mechanics

　　Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly

　　Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely

　　Communicate with drivers for issues in morning and afternoon

　　Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports

　　Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards

　　Follows all Waste Connections repair shop regulations and standards

　　Qualified candidate must have:

　　2+ years experience in a Diesel Mechanic role

　　Tool set, tool box and proper personal safety equipment required

　　Basic computer skills and ability to learn test diagnostic laptop and software

　　Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain one.

　　Welding experience is a plus

　　Minimum of a High School diploma or GED
