Job Description Summary
In this role you will be a member of the Quality Development Team as part of the larger Edison Works (EW) Engineering Delivery Team. The goal of the Quality Development Team is work with the EW production quality team, design engineering, and suppliers to proactively develop efficient methodologies to produce conforming hardware in support of production scale-up. You will be responsible for providing quality management system (QMS) expertise to engineering design teams, developing contemporary methods of assuring part quality, assisting with nonconformance reduction, and leading adoption of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).

Roles and Responsibilities
Implements APQP across military design organizations to improve production and delivery turnaround of engine hardware.
Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve design producibility. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of design quality engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
Member of functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Design Engineering
Ability to obtain and maintain US DoD SECRET clearance.
Desired Characteristics
Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
5 years experience in Design and/or Quality Engineering
Existing DOD Security Clearance
Demonstrated experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning and knowledge of AAQSC-issued standard AS 9145.
Demonstrated knowledge of model-based enterprise (MBE) and model-based definition (MBD)
Demonstrated experience using Lean Methodologies with a Continuous Improvement Mindset
Familiarity with Teamcenter, Siemens NX, non-conformance disposition.
Experience in the design and manufacture of complex, precise aerospace parts.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Established project management skills.
