DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN - Baton Rouge, LA
Description:
Our TEKsystems healthcare client has over 600 licensed beds across three campuses and offers the full spectrum of care from delivering newborns to providing end of life support through hospice. From our acclaimed Regional Burn Center, to our award-winning cancer and heart programs. And with 25 clinics located throughout Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas, their physician group provides patients with comprehensive care and a full suite of specialties, including internal and family medicine and specialty care.
The Desktop team is looking to add 1 contractor for a 6 month contract-to-hire who will eventually become a full time member of the desktop team. The Desktop team consist of 12 Technicians, a Supervisor, and a Manager that handle daily tickets that are escalated from the Helpdesk for boots on the ground IT hardware & some software support, troubleshooting, break/fix, upgrades, installs, asset request, etc.
Personal skills are more important that technical skills. The Manager is not looking for a Tech II and rather looking for someone with a similar backgrounds as are previous placements who came from Helpdesk backgrounds who lacked some hardware experience but is great with customers, so they have been willing to train on the hardware side.
Technical skills: Someone with some prior hardware/software basic support experience. This team handles PCs, printers, desktops, and IP phones. IP phone experience is not required but would be a plus. Baton Rouge General has varied PCs including Dell, HP, 770's, 880's, etc.
Responsibilities will include:
Moves/Adds/Changes
Project work including office moves. Techs will need to move the hardware to the new office space, setup fax lines/cords in the new office space, and deploy the hardware.
Windows 10 and hardware installation and troubleshooting
troubleshooting tickets including hardware break/fix, internet connectivity issues, email issues, new asset requests, imaging, etc.
