  DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs the intern, you will help in planning and carrying out thorough surveys of waterbodies for monitoring and evaluating surface waters, including those affected by oil and gas exploration. You will also learn and assist in maintaining water quality monitoring equipment, such as continuous water quality monitors. Additionally, you will learn and assist in managing and analyzing data collected from monitoring activities, using tools like geographic information systems (GIS) and Microsoft office applications. Lastly, you will also learn and assist in processing benthic macroinvertebrate and fish samples collected during waterbody surveys in the laboratory.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Full-time internship that will last from 5/1/2024 through 8/30/2024Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunchSalary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.   Internship Requirements:

  Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree, or advanced degree program in one of the following majors:

  BiologyWildlife and Fisheries ScienceEnvironmental ScienceAn approved major course of study at an accredited college or universityFreshman year completedGood academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university

  Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
