  DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn your role as an intern, you will be responsible for supporting the underground bituminous coal mine and/or coal refuse disposal area permit revision process by assisting with data entry, manipulation, and interpretation. This will help alleviate some of the workload for the permitting staff, enabling them to review permit revisions more efficiently. Additionally, you will contribute to water loss investigations and stream flow recovery evaluations, further enhancing your involvement in important environmental assessments.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Full-time employmentThe employment period will occur between the dates of 5/1/24 - 8/30/24.Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.   QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following majors:Geology/GeoscienceEnvironmental ScienceEnvironmental Resource ManagementAn approved major course of study at an accredited college or university.

  Freshman year completed.Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university

  Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
