Work you'll do/Responsibilities
The Case Analyst is responsible for conducting research and analysis of foreign investment transactions that may pose a national security risk to the United States. Specifically, the analyst will apply national security requirements (and sound judgment) to mitigate targeted risks: protected technology (drones, lasers, AI, quantum computing, etc.), sensitive data (apps on sailors' phone stealthily swiping PII), proximity (i.e., foreign companies purchasing land close to a shipyard), and supply assurance (i.e., provision that if foreign company buys DOD arms manufacturer it has to keep manufacturing arms for DOD). The Case Analyst will work closely with technological experts and other staff to assess the potential impact of these transactions and make recommendations to the Committee. This position may require input on behalf of the client of what mitigations are necessary to mitigate those concerns, and enforcement of those agreements once codified in National Security Agreements.
