ESS is looking for dedicated building subsitute for Mercer Elementary School in Mercer Area School District. This position would run from now till the end of the school year (June 2024). You would help out as a teacher in different classrooms throughout the school depending on the help needed for the day. This is a full time postition with hours Mon-Fri until the end of the school term.
An ESS substitute teacher assists with classroom instruction in the absence of a regular teacher. This person follows and teaches lesson plans, aids students in understanding subject matter, and ensures that regular classroom routines are followed. As a substitute teacher, you'll become an integral part of a school's educational team, amplifying your teaching expertise while maximizing the learning experience for students

Responsibilities
Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absentReview and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectivesEstablish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environmentReport any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administrationEvaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.Supervise students' fieldwork, internship, and research work.Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others.Perform other duties as directed by school administrationQualifications
Bachelor's Degree or PA Teaching LicensePhysical Requirements
Frequent sitting, walking, standing, stooping, and lifting, up to approximately 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds; other physical activities may be requiredKnowledge and Skills
