The Decision Analyst (DA) provides decision analysis support for existing power assets, renewable power projects, new investment/business development opportunities in coordination with Product Owners, Commercial Advisors and Project Engineers.
This position develops and delivers information that identifies the commercial benefits and risks of major acquisitions and divestitures, major projects, new business opportunities, and other complex commercial transactions. Provides project framing, economic/fiscal modeling, opportunity and alternatives assessment (including probabilistic) and prepares reports/presentations that improve decision clarity and decision quality (DQ). Provides feedback to Peer Advisory Boards.
The role supports major customers/clients and leads projects of medium scope and complexity under limited supervision. Detailed knowledge of most aspects of the work function.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Facilitation of project / strategy framing of commercial opportunities, building / updating economic models, assisting in development of decision support packages, and ensuring high Decision Quality.
Provides leadership in Business Unit efforts to accelerate decision making through adoption of iterative approaches.
Develops decision-making framework that ensures linkage to Chevron strategy and priorities by defining problems, identifying critical factors, and evaluating alternative courses of action.
Required Qualifications:
5 Years of Experience
Excel Advanced Working Knowledge.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field with demonstrated experience in analyzing and supporting fossil fuel and renewable energy projects in upstream, midstream, or downstream.
Demonstrated experience in economic modeling on complex projects with the application of DA processes (framing, deterministic/probabilistic analysis, decision support packages)
Strong communication and organization skills, project leadership, and ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team.
Demonstrated success in communication of complex information to identify important data and convey key messages and actions.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or Master´s Degree
Renewable and / or Power Development Experience
