Job Overview
Operate Debarker machine to remove bark prior to entering the mill. Run logs through debarker system to make sure all bark is removed. Check and clear metal detector. Make sure logs are flowing to prevent jams. Operate chainsaw as required throughout day. Responsible for daily maintenance of machine and have ability to identify any potential issues. Must be an excellent communicator and team player.

While performing duties as a Debarker Operator, the employee is regularly required to climb into and off machinery and equipment numerous times daily.The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions.The employee works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration.The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.The employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and communicate.The employee is required to use tools such as shovels, axes, and other hand tools, related to the job.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of weight and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds of weight.Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Noise levels can be moderate to loud, hearing protection required.Safety glasses and safety shoes are required.Company Overview
