Description
Data Systems Analyst
Department: Information TechnologySupervisor: Director of Information TechnologyBASIC FUNCTIONOversees the development of data applications, policies, practices and procedures to manage the collection of data from the organization's operations, primarily in the donated goods division. Responsible for the integrity of data entered into systems and the mining of data from primary and secondary data sources; and organizing said data in formats that can be easily used for analysis. Works with key employees to understand reporting needs of the organization and uses statistical tools to interpret data sets to identify trends, patterns and predictions that could be valuable for predictive analytics efforts that will drive organizational performance through increased sales and profitability. Provides assistance in maintaining information technology systems including connectivity, security, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESA. Collaborates with supervisor, executive team and other key employees to determine short-term and long-term data collection, data reporting and related system needs that are in line with the organization's and IT department's strategic plans.B. Establishes data quality standards and works with management and end users to ensure standards are met. Monitors overall performance of systems and applications and tests integrity of data; including but not limited to: warehouse management (WMS), point of sale (POS), production/barcoding, and other. Works with end users to ensure process flow and system use is effective, efficient and properly capturing data.C. Utilizing Microsoft Power Platform and other system reporting capabilities to compile data into report formats for use in interpreting data sets to identify trends, patterns and predictions that are effectively communicated to management; provides management with key performance measures that will help drive profitability. Analyzes WMS, POS and other data collection system reports and works with management to develop benchmarks.D. Develops and documents procedures for data cleaning and standardization; and data collection and evaluation methodologies that focus on project criteria and requirement, data collection goals, relevancy and usage.E. In conjunction with Director of Information Technology ensures that network resources are optimized for system needs, that compliance standards are maintained, that security features are installed and functioning to protect data integrity and unauthorized system access, and that required system upgrades are performed on a timely basis.F. Provides support to users at all Goodwill locations. Diagnoses issues and provides step-by-step instructions to end users to resolve issues. Assists with maintaining a help-desk system and works with Director of Information Technology to identify trends and works to establish solutions along with identifying employee training needs.G. Assists in maintaining system documentation encompassing network configuration, system set-up options, established process flow, end user step-by-step instructions, and trouble-shooting guides.H. Functions as liaison for any GII or other big data initiatives. Develops data tracking techniques as needed. Coordinates the staff efforts for data reporting and ensures the organization's compliance with data requests and analysis.I. Assists Director of Information Technology with project management duties for large installations of new technology; develops data and reporting needs during discovery phases to ensure appropriate availability of data for analysis and management needs; and provides ongoing oversight of data dashboards to ensure analysis is driving operational decisions that ensure rowth of sales and profits.J. Performs all duties in a safe manner and adheres to all safety rules and regulations.K. Communicates progress, problems, and issues with supervisor.

Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in computer systems analysis, computer science, computer information systems (CIS) or similar field is preferred with 2 years of experience in related work; or, a combination of education and experience as to enable the individual to perform the job duties and requirements of the position.Prior experience in data analysis preferred.Proficiency with Microsoft software and excellent proficiency and understanding of Microsoft SQL databases.Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Power Platform (BI, Apps, Automat), or other business intelligence platforms preferred.Must have excellent analytical skills and ability to identify errors and problemsAbove average interpersonal skills and ability to work across the organization and levels of employees; must possess excellent verbal and written communications skillsMust be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-taskAbility to effectively work as part of a team or independently; must be able to work flexible day/evening hours and be on call as needed (shared team rotation).Must have valid driver's license and reliable vehicleMust have a cell phone
