Genesis10 is seeking a Data Governance and Privacy Lead for a remote contract with our client. Job Description: Our client is seeking a dynamic individual to take on the role of Data Governance and Privacy Lead. The client currently has open risk and audit findings related to its data protection capabilities, and we are looking for someone to spearhead efforts in addressing these gaps and closing the identified findings. Responsibilities: Design and implement a comprehensive data governance, privacy, and security program for the client, including the development of policies, procedures, and frameworks. Lead the selection and implementation of a data discovery and classification tool. Collaborate with IT teams to label/tag discovered data according to the client's data classification scheme. Make recommendations for enhancements to data logging and monitoring activities. Work with Cybersecurity to implement data protection measures, user access controls, encryption methodologies, and privacy policies. Ensure the client's compliance with CCPA, PCI, state laws and regulations, and other data-related regulatory requirements. Enhance the client's data retention schedule and practices. Develop and deliver data governance, privacy, and security training programs to educate staff on data governance, privacy, and security practices and requirements. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the data governance, privacy, and security program. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7+ years of experience in data governance, privacy, security, and data management, or related fields. Strong knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security frameworks, methodologies, and best practices. Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, CCPA, PCI, current and planned individual state laws and regulations Proven willingness to take ownership of work and lead on data initiatives. Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or similar certification is a plus. Compensation: Hourly W2 pay rate $70.00-$85.00 We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
