Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Data Center Technician in Ashburn, Virginia. The role entails managing infrastructure installations and coordinating network connections in the tech industry. As a Data Center Technician, you will engage directly with the IT and Project Management team, ensuring that all service levels are met and all projects are thoroughly estimated and documented.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage infrastructure installation requests from start to finish.

• Support building power downs and single-sided events.

• Certify network connections and peripherals before handing off to DCS.

• Interface with the BAU team to provide additional infrastructure.

• Coordinate work requests with electrical contractors.

• Document project requirements through communication with IT or Project Management team and interpretation of schematics and drawings.

• Monitor and coordinate power remediation from start to completion.

• Assist with rack level capacity management and MOA monitoring.

• Participate in meetings pertaining to BAU or projects INF work.

• Provide Root Cause Analysis reports regarding power issues.

• Coordinate Infrastructure Installs, including power installs, infrastructure and rack installs, and infrastructure cabling.

• Responsible for tracking and ordering all infrastructure materials. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Center Technician or in a similar role

• Proficiency in Network Operations Center (NOC) functions is required

• Demonstrable skills in Cable Assemblies and Cable Installation are necessary

• Must be adept in using Microsoft tools and applications

• Experience with Cisco Hardware is a must-have

• Knowledge of SAN - Storage Area Network is essential

• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively

• Problem-solving attitude and strong attention to detail

• Availability to resolve urgent issues outside of business hours when necessary

• Relevant certification in IT or related field is a plus
