DEVELOPMENT (WHAT WILL YOU LEARN BY DOING THIS JOB)
This is an infrastructure management position within the Site Management discipline. Career path includes advancement to senior management position within the Site Management structure and/or access to management position within other technical support areas, systems development or team leadership.
BUSINESS OVERVIEW
The Americas Data Center Physical Provisioning team (DCPP) is the Data Center Site Management structure responsible for providing timely and cost-effective operations services to the Americas Data Centers. DCPP is responsible for management and tracking of all activity within the current and future-processing environments in the data center. This functional group monitors all Business as Usual (BAU) activity and projects including hardware installs and upgrades. It also assures the proper and timely coordination of escalated processing problems.
Responsibility for the management and control of all data center floor space relating to the actual acceptance, placement, and installation of hardware on the processing floor. This group also acts as the managing interface coordinating all Corporate Reality Service (CRS) activities within the facility. Acts as an interface for the facility with Corporate Security as well as assisting in making decisions related to processing floor access on an exception basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The DCPP Lead’s roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead the team that maintains current updates to the inventory control systems
Update documentation such as procedures and audit documents
Update the weekly report and distribute to administration
Lead team on project priorities within the site along with key updates to the SP site
Create the weekly rack and stack change control list
Authorize changes throughout the day for records assigned to DCPP
Distribute the daily and weekend changes for the site
Resolve trouble tickets assigned to DCPP
Perform hardware elevations for various new hardware installations
Coordinate facility activities such as electrical installs, UPS functions, new equipment installation and/or the de-installation of old equipment with Site Management
Monitor and respond to all facility type emergencies (i.e. transferring to UPS power, loss of water to the building etc.)
Coordinate hardware installs with the DCSD Team Lead
Lead all asset disposal activities to ensure compliance
Maintain the DC floor space and lead all capacity planning efforts (racks, power whips, and fiber/copper infrastructure)
Lead the annually asset reconciliation
Coordinate strategic transformation/optimization activities in his/her respective site
Responsible for managing and maintaining Network Capacity within respective Data Center
Manage all CASP vendor infrastructure procurements which will include Citi three quote submission policy
If applicable, DCPP lead may need to manage all off-site co-location site’s asset reconciliations, inventory logistic shipments (inbound & outbound), and DCIM workflows (installs and decommissions)
All other activities as needed
EXPECTED OUTCOMES (WHAT WILL “SUCCESS” LOOK LIKE IN 12 MONTHS)
After 12 months in this position, the DCPP Lead will be proficient in CTI standards and policies regarding data center installations and maintenance of the overall environment. He/She will be able to complete the process flow from receipt of hardware into the Data Center to installation and hand-off to the business. He/she will be able to lead a team of Technical Analysts through a typical project requirement definition and process flow design to ensure complete delivery of services provided by this organization.
KEY CHALLENGES (WHAT IS THE WORK/MARKET ENVIRONMENT)
The Americas Data Center environment is a fast-paced, demanding environment that requires the team lead to successfully multi-task BAU, technical project requests, and business requirements. The priority of “daily task” activity changes often in this environment.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS (KEY COMPETENCIES, MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, MINIMUM PRIOR SPAN OF CONTROL, TECHNICAL SKILLS)
A minimum of a BA degree in business administration and/or at least ten years of prior data center operations experience in the implementation, maintenance and analysis of data center facilities, hardware, and communications infrastructure.
Strong background in data center strategies, tools and effective troubleshooting techniques.
A hands-on individual with multiple hardware platform knowledge (HP, Dell, EMC, IBM, Cisco, Cloud Computing, etc.) is required.
Strong background on enterprise data center facilities and infrastructure environments such as PDUs, RPPs, Network and SAN infrastructures.
Strong background on complex Enterprise class inter-networked environments.
Excellent organizational skills and a people-oriented management style preferred.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task to lead several priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
Excellent Communication and Writing skills.
Knowledge of the Service Now, Trellis, Microsoft Technologies, project management processes and associated tools.
Logical problem-solving techniques and associated experience in system, data center facilities, and telecommunications.
Proven leadership and detailed enterprise project management skills are a must.
Experience in the Financial Services industry is a plus.
