About the Role & Program
D23: The Official Disney Fan Club was established to bring Disney fans closer to the “magic” through one-of-a-kind experiences and special events, quarterly publications, exclusive online content, and opportunities to meet others who share the same affection for Disney, 365 days a year! In this full-time role, you will report to the Senior Manager, D23 Creative and Programming.
What You Will Do
The D23 Membership and Programming Intern will have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to work directly with the team who produces content, merchandise and events. In this role, you will have a unique opportunity to contribute to and understand:
Communications: Assist in drafting and researching articles, event communications and recaps. Build Keynote presentations for both internal and external functions. Assist in crafting, setting up, and fulfilling event surveys, event postings, and ticketing pages
Project Management: Coordinate team meetings and agendas, handling master event calendar, track production achievements, and regularly update event documents and AAR based on team input
Event Support: From assisting with brainstorming and master planning to creating run-of-show documents, interacting with guests and solving concerns, and coordinating select areas of operation (e.g. check-in) for a variety of events, including D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event
Required Qualifications & Skills
Knowledge of and genuine interest in the Walt Disney Company’s past, present and future including films, animation, television and theme parks.
Ability to work on multiple projects in a positive, pro-active manner, both individually and as part of a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding organizational and follow-through skills, with a strong desire to learn
Proven attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Demonstrated comfort working in Keynote, crafting quality, in-depth presentations
Knowledge of creative process and deliverables
Able to work a flexible event schedule, including nights and weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Familiar with D23: The Official Disney Fan Club, and deep knowledge of Disney’s history, brands, processes and culture
Previously completed an internship within the entertainment industry
Advanced writing and editing experience
Knowledge of digital online tools such as WordPress
Design, event, and production experience
Education
A junior, senior or recent graduate pursuing a bachelor's degree in Events, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications or a related fieldEligibility Requirements & Program Information
Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2024 – January 2025.
Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
Must be able to provide own housing and transportation in the Glendale, CA area
The pay rate for this internship in California is $21.70 per hour.
