About Customer Service Representative

Description We are inviting applications for the role of a Customer Service Representative/Financial Aid Advisor based in Canton, Michigan. This role is within a technical school setting and requires extensive interaction with students and parents. You will be assisting with financial aid FAFSA application process, collecting necessary paperwork, and communicating over the phone and face-to-face. Previous financial aid experience is REQUIRED! Responsibilities:

• Assist students and parents in completing the FAFSA application

• Collect required financial paperwork from students and parents

• Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, clients, and customers

• Use multiple computer systems, applications, and search tools to find information

• Deliver personalized, quality service in every interaction

• Proactively solve problems, listening for customer cues and resolving issues with grace and integrity

Exhibit excellent written, verbal, and social communication skills

Go the extra mile to solve complex customer inquiries through extensive research

Handle both inbound and outbound calls, data entry, and schedule appointments

Ability to interact effectively with internal and external partners and clients/customers

Foundational knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, e.g. ACT!, Illustrator, Highrise, and InsightlyExcellent customer service and office administrative skills

Ability to use multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information

2+ years' experience of demonstrated performance in a goal-driven customer-focused environment preferred

Positive attitude and an engaging businesslike approach

Active problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity

Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills

Proven experience going the extra mile to solve complex customer inquiries via extensive research

• Experience in a call center customer service environment is essential.

• Demonstrated customer service skills and a commitment to providing excellent service.

• Ability to accurately perform data entry tasks.

• Experience handling email correspondence in a detail oriented setting.

• Capability to manage both inbound and outbound calls effectively.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

• Familiarity with order entry systems.

• Ability to schedule appointments efficiently and accurately.
