The Department of the Secretary of State,Bureau of Motor Vehiclesis seeking candidates to fill a Customer Rep Associate II position for the Financial Responsibility and Accident Unit of Driver License Services. This unit is responsible for aiding Bureau of Motor Vehicle customers directly by phone and via calls from Branch personnel. This unit manages call volumes on average of 500 calls a week. The successful candidate must provide outstanding, quality customer service, with an attitude that reflects a positive, public image. This position reports to the Clerk IV and works Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
A typical day involves:
Corresponding with the public to receive/provide information and/or adjust complaints.
Opening and distributing all mail for the control sections of Driver License Service.
Receiving law enforcement crash reports electronically via the Maine Crash Reporting System and is responsible for assuring all accident information is attached to the proper record and manually resolve errors when necessary.
Processing administrative suspensions actions associated with maintenance of liability insurance/uninsured accident cases, 3 accident reviews, judgement suspensions, SR-22 filings and subsequent cancellations.
Assist in the gathering of required information regarding accidents that involve fatalities to determine administrative action by the Secretary of State.
Examining documents/information, determine facts, detect errors and irregularities, and take action as authorized.
To be successful you will need:
Knowledge of programs and resources that have a compliance or eligibility component.
Knowledge of query and research techniques.
Ability to stay current and understand, discusses, explain, and apply applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, paperwork, and terminology.
Ability to make intermediate mathematical calculations.
Ability to verify, code, compute, and/or reconcile data on standard documents.
Ability to track documents for follow-up action.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Training, education, or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates:
competency in applying a solid knowledge of the principles and practices of quality customer service to perform complex work in assisting the public with applications, fees, examinations, or social services that have an eligibility or compliance component; and
the ability to use independent decision-making on the appropriate processes to follow, information to process, and actions to take in accordance with standard procedures.
All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of: Customer Representative Assistant I, Customer Representative Assistant II and Customer Representative Associate I.
