What you'll be doing
• Primary focus of this role will be to maintain the BT Payphone Kiosk estate in a geographical area including repairing payphone faults, changing glass panels, conducting RCD checks and maintenance of the kiosk.
• Once security cleared there is a requirement to work in HM Prisons and other external secure areas maintaining our payphone estate.
• There is a requirement to operate electrical grinders and wear appropriate PPE (facemasks)
• You will be required to attain and 18th edition qualification to carry out instructed electrical work upgrading the payphone estate to All IP. (This is not a qualified electrician role, just a regulatory requirement to carry out instructed work)
• Install, set up, optimise and repair (where repair indicates simple remedy e.g. restart hub or change user settings rather than technical repair e.g. configuration) the BT Enterprise range of IP telephony systems and handsets, e.g., Cloud Voice or MI Cloud, or equivalent, likely to be either pre or remotely configured
Essential skills
• Brilliant customer service skills and experience in dealing with Business customers
• Great empathy and listening skills so I can have Great Conversations with our customers
• Previous experience of logical problem solving
• An interest in technical solutions required, and previous engineering experience (at any level) desirable
• Full UK driving licence
