Reports to Facility Maintenance Manager B & assists in all aspects of cleaning & maintaining quality standards. Prepares & assigns work schedules for subordinate employees through subordinate Supervisors B's and Supervisors A's. Maintains accurate personnel records on all work crews. Meets with Building Coordinators to get feedback on the quality of service provided by the crews. Must be flexible & have the ability to multitask when necessary. Performs all related duties necessary to provide professional service to the customers of Facility Services/Building Services. Responsible for over 20 buildings across campus with various square footage.
Job Duties:
Manages and directs building cleaning services, special events, special projects, floor maintenance and pest control for custodial personnel. Has direct responsibility for academic and administrative buildings with planning and scheduling activities. - 35%
Uses Work Control System for scheduling and reviewing of work orders. Will be over Weekend crews and rotating on-call. -25%
Assist the department heads with planning and carrying out policies relating to management of assigned personnel on day shift such as hires, promotions, transfers, disciplinary actions, and evaluations. Prepares related documents for review by the department head. - 20%
Develops procedures and practices for the efficient operation, improvement, and continuity of Building Services activities, special events and special projects. Other duties as assigned. - 20%
Minimum Qualifications:
Three years of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.
Certifications/Licenses:
Valid Driver's License
Special or Physical Qualifications:
In accordance with University Policy Statement 18, this position is considered essential and may be required to report or stay on campus in the event of an emergency or closure.
Physical ability to perform manual work. Must be capable of walking around the assigned area. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs multiple times daily and stand for extended period of time. Be capable of stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Must be capable of moving furniture/objects that weigh at least 20 lbs and transport cleaning carts and various equipment to different parts of the building. Due to the position's physical requirements, a pre-employment physical examination will be required per FASOP: HR-04.

Managerial responsibility involves developing policy and procedures, setting performance objectives for the assigned functions, as well as planning, implementing, controlling, and evaluating functions and staff.
