Curb Machine Operator - CM0124

　　Sanders Brother Construction is currently seeking a Concrete Curb Machine Operator to support Sanders Brothers construction projects within the Charleston, SC area. The Curb Machine Operator will work on commercial, DOT and residential projects including curb, sidewalk, gutter, ramps and other flatwork as needed. Concrete professionals are a critical component to Sanders Brother’s 50+ years of success in the construction industry.

　　Roles and Responsibilities

　　Operate concrete curb machine.

　　Knowledge of concrete admixtures

　　Pour job from start to finish and clean machine once completed

　　Light machine maintenance to include but not limited to greasing bearings, monitoring fluid levels, etc.

　　Ability to read stakes and measure to curb ensuring concrete is being poured accurately

　　Prepare, align and set horizontal concrete forms.

　　Use saws to cut expansion joints or remove concrete.

　　Finish concrete which may include dye, color, stamp or various other types of finish.

　　Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete such as curbs, sidewalks, roads, pads and ramps using a variety of hand and power tools.

　　Understand concrete measurements.

　　Ability to use all tools required by concrete finishers.

　　Ability to work weekends as needed which may require working more than 40 hours.

　　Work in varying weather conditions and work environments including dusty, wet, loud noises, etc.

　　Keep work site areas and company vehicle clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns or vehicle or site problems.

　　Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures and safety requirements.

　　Perform any other general duties as specified.

　　Qualifications and Education Requirements

　　Must have 2+ years experience operating a curb machine, experience with Power Curber machines is preferred

　　Experience with Leica LPS machine control system preferred

　　Must have 5+ years experience working with concrete, building/dismantling forms and supporting concrete pouring/finishing operation.

　　Must have experience finishing curb, gutter, drains and ADA ramps.

　　Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record by complying with standards established by SBCC policy.

　　Must be able to pass a DOT physical

　　Must have knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.

　　Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.

　　Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.

　　Employee will be required to long periods of time standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting.

　　Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls and tools.

　　May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.

　　Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and leather work boots.

　　Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to drug and background checks.

　　Must have the ability to stand, crawl and kneel for long periods of time

　　Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.
