What You’ll Do

Safely guide children and pedestrians across designated intersections or crosswalks.

Monitor traffic flow and signal pedestrians to cross when it is safe.

Use hand signals, stop paddles, and verbal commands to direct traffic when necessary.

Enforce compliance with traffic and safety regulations.

Report traffic violations and safety concerns to local law enforcement or school authorities.

Assist pedestrians during adverse weather conditions or hazardous situations.

Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with students, parents, and drivers.

Participate in training sessions and meetings to stay updated on safety protocols.

Collaborate with school officials and local authorities to promote traffic safety awareness.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Know

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous experience as a crossing guard or in a related field is advantageous.

Ability and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and remain alert and attentive during duty hours.

Adhere to all regulatory, company and departmental policies and procedures.

Reliable and punctual with a commitment to ensuring the safety of children and pedestrians.

Understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations.

Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug test. These checks include a criminal check and a sex offender registry check.
