FTE: 0.600000 Shift: Shift 1 The Cardiovascular Intensive CareUnit is a 20-bed state of the art ICU. We care for medical and surgicalcardiovascular patients including a large population of Advanced HeartFailure patients pre and post heart transplant patients those needingshort or long term ventricular assist device support and patients withcardiopulmonary failure. In addition we care for complex vascular andthoracic surgical patients and those recovering from acute MI. Ourinterprofessional team of nurses physicians advanced practice providerspatient care technicians respiratory care practitioners and physical andoccupational therapists work together to ensure optimal high qualitycare and outcomes for our patients. The CVICU staff is highly engaged inboth the work unit and process improvement. Job Summary: The CriticalCare Technician (CCT), under the direction and supervision of aRegistered Nurse, provides delegated age-appropriate care in aculturally and ethnically sensitive manner in the Critical Care Units.The CCT assists patients with the tasks outlined in their clinicalcompetency assessment related to basic nursing skills, personal careskills, basic restorative services, and necessary critical care skills..The CCT practices and performs what was taught during their CNA trainingand certification or learned during basic nursing courses at anaccredited school for professional nurses. The CCT may be asked toprovide continuous safety observation. This job reports to the NurseManager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned Critical Care Unit andthe RNs on duty on each assigned shift.
