The Department of Anesthesia in the Roy J. and Lucille B. Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Anesthesia ICU Intensivist.This is a clinical track appointment. The chosen candidate will be responsible for actualizing out tripartite mission: clinical care, education, and research. Responsibilities of this position include:
Participating in team-based anesthesia care and personally providing anesthesia careServing as a member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating for effective patient outcomesActive participation in the academic activities of the Department and College of MedicineSupervising students, residents, fellows, SRNA's and non-anesthesia rotatorsProviding developmental feedback to those under supervision, verbally and in writingPreparing educational materials, leading and/or attending academic lectures and professional development eventsResearch activities are encouraged, though participation is not required for continued employment or promotionEducation Requirement:
Qualified candidates must show successful completion of an approved residency program in either Anesthesiology or Emergency MedicineCandidates must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degreeRequired Qualifications:
Candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of IowaCandidates must be board-certified in Critical Care (or non-US Board equivalent) or be in the certification process (pending completion of residency or fellowship). On occasion, individuals trained outside of the United States who are certified by an equivalent national certification group may be considered.Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.Certifications:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart AssociationDesirable Qualifications:
