Floyd County is looking for a Bridge Shop Crew Supervisor!!
The purpose of this classification is to supervise assigned staff and offenders, and perform manual work functions associated with the maintenance of bridges on County roads and property.
Essential Functions:Supervise staff and offenders in completing assigned task.Adheres to established safety procedures; monitors work environment and use of safety equipment to ensure safety of offenders, employees, and other individuals.Flags and directs traffic and places markers, signs, and cones around project/work site to ensure safety of crew and the traveling public.Operates a variety of machinery and tools used in road, bridge and roadside construction and maintenance.Conducts pre and post-trip inspections, including checking all fluids, gauges, lighting, and tires.Inspect bridges for safety compliances.Maintain bridge shop inventory.
Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience in road construction/maintenance, concrete and carpentry, or related field. Candidates may qualify with any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess a valid drivers license. Must possess and maintain a valid Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) Certification.
