Job Description Summary:UCAR is excited to announce the job opening for theCPAESS Program Specialist II role. This position is responsible for theadministration of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration(NOAA) Ocean Acidification Program (OAP)'s marine carbon dioxideremoval research projects portfolio and providing additional support to ehCarbon Dioxide Removal lead. The candidate will provide experiencedadministrative support to OAP program management and will assist programengagement with other NOAA offices, partnering Federal agencies, and theextramural research community.
NOAA's Ocean Acidification Program (OAP) studies our changing ocean tobetter understand impacts of ocean acidification and how to adapt.
CPAESS serves the Earth System Science community in three distinct areas ofservice. We partner with federal agencies and businesses to hire criticalscientific staff enabling a more robust workforce. Through our scientificprograms we seek to edify new research with our postdoctoral programs, ourvisiting scientist and internship programs, along with our interagencysupport programs. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide professional level support to the marine Carbon Dioxide RemovalProgram Manager to track OAP's marine carbon dioxide removal researchportfolio, including:
Process yearly reports and track Inflation Reduction Act metrics
Monitor the progress of marine carbon dioxide removal research projectsagainst milestones and deliverable targets
Maintain records and internal project database
Respond to internal project-related data calls and taskers
Assist the marine Carbon Dioxide Removal Program Manager in drafting writtenmaterials to support enhanced coordination and implementation of carbondioxide removal research within and outside of NOAA, including:
Provide administrative support in planning and developing Notice of FundingOpportunities (NOFOs) for external competitions and RFPs for internal NOAAcompetitions.
Provide experienced support to the planning and implementation of theselection panels
Provide support for the administration of all projects and will assist in themonitoring and evaluation of the projects
Plan workshops and support on-the-ground coordination of in-person and virtualevents.
