We are seeking a organized individual with top notch interpersonal skills to join our team as a Council Outreach Coordinator. In this role, you will act as a liaison between Town Council and members of the Gilbert community by managing resident correspondence, serving as a point of contact for neighborhood leaders and organizing council communication and outreach efforts. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a passion for community involvement, and the ability to build strong relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work with departments to research issues and prepare timely responses to all resident outreach going to Town Council.
Refine process for resident responses, ensuring each are handled promptly and all parties are kept informed.
Serve as council’s liaison to neighborhoods by providing information and regular communication, including attending neighborhood meetings and giving neighborhood specific updates.
Build neighborhood leader database and contact list.
Plan community engagement events for Town Council.
Produce and distribute council communication materials, such as e-bulletins and/or newsletters with community information.
Prepare general information/talking points for Town Council to use at community events.
Explore future community and civic engagement and informational events.

In alignment with the Town of Gilbert Remote Work Guideline, this position has been identified as an eligible position for the “Hybrid” remote work category, defined as “Approximately half (50%) of the employees’ time is spent on-site or in the field and half (50%) can be spent working remotely”.

Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Social Science, Communications or equivalent combination of education/ experience in a related field
Minimum 5 years experience in local government neighborhood outreach, community organizing, or communications.
Willingness and ability to work outside traditional office hours and moderate travel requirements.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Licenses / Certifications:
Valid Arizona driver's licenseKnowledge of:
