Harlem Children's Zone (HCZ) is a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York and is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, mission-aligned Cosmetology Specialist with our High School After-School program.

　　The Cosmetology Specialist will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children's Zone: break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life.

　　We are seeking a Cosmetology Specialist with expertise and an understanding of how to adapt a cosmetology curriculum to an after-school setting. The ideal candidate will be able to teach students to present. They will be able to expose students to available technologies and programming through a designed curriculum and through a series of projects designed by students. The Cosmetology Specialist must be able to motivate and maintain the interest of students while setting a positive example. Additionally, the Cosmetology Specialist must take a sincere, active, and appropriate interest in the well-being and success of all students.

　　What You'll Do

　　Engage a group of 15-20 students in a curriculum exploring Cosmetology as a tool for project-based learning Design a curriculum to introduce students to the world of Cosmetology and a variety of forms such as esthetics, makeup, and hairstyling. Coordinate Cosmetology based trips, special events, student showcases, and other activities. Perform other duties as assigned.

　　Ability to work Monday through Friday, 4 pm - 8 pm.
