DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Corrections Refrigeration Mechanic Trade Instructor for the Department of Corrections, you will maintain an inmate work crew for the purpose of instructing, coaching, and educating the inmate in the trade of refrigeration mechanics. You will provide on the job training and shop instruction for the vocational training of inmates in the refrigeration mechanic trade.
You will be responsible for instructing inmates in the practices, methods, and procedures of the refrigeration mechanic trade. You will be providing maintenance support relating to the refrigeration trade in both construction and repair and performing necessary refrigeration and air conditioning repairs to all institution refrigeration and air conditioning systems. You will be providing supervision, security and custody for inmates assigned to work detail.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40-hour work week.Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary.This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Five years of experience in the repair and servicing of refrigeration systems or air conditioning systems; orCompletion of an approved apprenticeship in the refrigeration or air conditioning mechanic trade; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the refrigeration or air conditioning mechanic trade.Special Requirement:
