About Correction Officer

　　Guard inmates in penal institution in accordance with established policies and regulations.Observes conduct and behavior of inmates to prevent disturbances and escapes.Reports observations to superior. Must have high school diploma or GED. Can not be a convicted felon. Must successfully complete jailer certification with the time perios allotted by the state. Must be able to articulate and write reports on events that occur within the jail, maintain confidential and priviledged information, work 12 hour swing shifts. Experience with computers, telephones, 2-way radios, electronic calculators, copier and collator, scanner, and Microsoft Office or Wordperfect are desired but not required.
