Our Travel Retail Division has an exciting opportunity to appoint a Corporate Strategic Business Partner, FINANCE with financial responsibility for Travel Retail, Europe, Middle East and Africa. The position reports directly to the Finance Director, Travel Retail EMA.
The purpose of this job is to be the finance lead and trusted corporate strategic business partner leading the CAPITAL/CAPEX process of the region working together with the regional Brands Directors, Store Design/Visual Merchandising team, Strategic Business Managers, Commercial Sales Force and NY Finance.
The Corporate Strategic Business Partner will be responsible for leading the new doors CAPEX Long Range Plan budget for all brands by heading the process with all stakeholders whilst ensuring compliance with TR WW targets, and managing profitability for all new doors openings and doors refurbishments.
The Corporate Strategic Business Partner is seen as a value-added partner to the Regional Brand Directors to optimize the brand(s) OPEX in the area of depreciation related to capital investments, with the aim to help with the growth of the brands.
The Corporate Strategic Business Partner serves as financial advisor to the Regional Finance Director on all CAPEX related matters.
Specific Responsibilities include :
Strategy, Planning and Estimate process
Evaluates financial impact of strategic choices and suggests alternatives.
Manages, drives, and compiles the annual budget, LRP, and ongoing financial estimates in line with deadlines and strategic priorities through collaboration with several functions.
Robustly challenges estimates to ensure gaps are identified & addressed, providing objective and independent view.
Reviews and analysis new door P&L performance and provides comparison by creating post-mortem P&L to verify financials are as per planned.
Leads monthly reviews with all stakeholders on new door opening and refurbishments.
Manages the depreciation budget and estimate for all brands. Guide the branded strategic business managers on the yearly outlook of the depreciation line.
Support process changes and ensure they are embedded consistently in brands.
Responsible for timely rebilling of projects to protect company’s cashflow.
Business Partnering & Performance Management
Serve as the key finance contact for TR WW/COEs as well as for Regional Leadership for brand CAPITAL investments and is responsible for explaining financial performance/costs of projects.
Oversee the CAPEX annual planning cycle and the monthly estimate submission in addition to supporting aspects of the monthly close.
Ensures relevant, accurate financial and commercial reporting is delivered on a timely basis to support business decisions with actionable insights provided.
Understands the competitive pressures that the business faces and their potential implications and provides business alternatives/solutions.
Continually challenges current thinking and makes recommendations on how to optimize business opportunities and minimize risk/cost to the business.
Decision support: analyzing new initiatives, ensuring financial viability and ROI of all decisions on new doors.
Leads new/refurbishments doors discussions in regional brand reviews ensuring key issues are surfaced, explained, and debated collaboratively.
Financial Control
Upholds accounting principles and ensures proper processes are adhered to within the brand teams.Leadership
Leads the entire CAPEX process within Travel Retail EMA and Genpact
Go to person to NY TR WW with regards to CAPEX
Interacts with COE team on CAPEX related matters.
Ensure effective & timely communication especially with the commercial and store design teams.
Qualifications
Candidate’s qualifications:
Candidates should be CIMA/ACCA qualified with experience of working in a Sales and Marketing environment within an International company. SAP familiarity, strong analytical skills, attention to detail and an ability to multi task in a fast paced commercial environment are requirements of the role. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
