  WHAT YOU'LL DO

  The BCG Newsroom Communications Senior Manager, Climate & Sustainability, is an earned media expert who plays in the traffic of agenda-setting ideas as an integral member of the BCG Newsroom. The BCG Newsroom is a hub for creating and shaping thought leadership content and amplifying BCG's most important topics and assets across channels globally. The BCG Newsroom collaborates with local marketing teams as well as Practice Areas for shaping, identifying and amplifying content. The BCG Newsroom, a key element of Marketing and Communications, acts proactively and stays on top of recent external developments.

  The BCG Newsroom Communications Senior Manager, Climate & Sustainability, will advance BCG's agenda based on a deep understanding of and active engagement in current topics of interest for media, thought leading forums and a keen sense of future opportunity areas in climate and sustainability. This will be achieved through close collaboration with Practice Areas, local marketing teams and the BCG Newsroom team.

  As part of this position, you will:

  Identify topics of interest for media in the areas of climate and sustainability that are of relevance for BCG and / or its content creation

  Provide input and recommendations regarding how and where BCG should weigh in in issues of the day as well as emerging topics related to climate and sustainability

  Track and forecast earned media as well as the thought leadership landscape - including target media/thought leader engagement priorities -- with a deep focus on agenda setting of media, forums and influencers

  Collaborate cross Practice Area teams and Managing Partner and Directors on content creation (climate, sustainability, energy transition), media/forum prep and engagement

  Work with local marketing teams focused on climate and sustainability topics

  Push cross channel activation of key content, related assets and leaders

  Work alongside the BCG campaign media team

  Manage global PR agencies related to climate and sustainability topics

  Measure relevant key performance indicators for your campaigns/programs (i.e., share of voice/level of engagement for topics globally and in major markets)

  YOU'RE GOOD AT

  Synthesizing earned media topics in the areas of climate and sustainability to develop highly effective and impactful new content together with Practice Areas/BCG's content production unit

  Understanding the issues shaping today's global news agenda and connecting them to BCG's business priorities -- including applying data/analytics to prove your case

  Growing and nurturing a network of strong international relationships with leading journalists, editors, columnists, opinion leaders, forums and influencers - including use of analytics to set strategy and track progress

  Writing talking points, press releases and presentations

  Working for and presenting to senior leaders

  Working collaboratively with multiple, culturally diverse teams (e.g., Practice Areas, local marketing teams)

  Self-motivated with strong creative and problem-solving skills

  Performing successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment

  YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

  6+ years of experience preferred in press office of government/government agency/prominent corporate brand/non-government organization/publisher/think tank

  Professional experience in climate & sustainability related field a plus

  Bachelor in related field (e.g., Politics/Economics, Green Technology), MBA a plus

  A well-connected and driven individual with relationships and experience in developing partnerships with think tanks and leaders that operate in industry, government, academia, and non-profit spheres

  Deep interest/knowledge in climate and sustainability topics

  Strong network of journalists, editors, columnists of top tier media outlets as well as influencers

  A proven experience where collaborations originated in new thinking/content

  A proven track record in writing talking points, press releases, presentations

  A global perspective

  Excellent, authentic communication skills: Written, oral and active listening (including conversations and presentations to senior leadership)

  Experience in working successfully within a matrix structured organization

  YOU'LL WORK WITH

  The BCG Newsroom Communications Senior Manager, Climate and Sustainability, will directly report to the NAMR and Global Campaigns Communications Executive Director as part of the Topic Communications Expert Team in the BCG Newsroom. The BCG Newsroom Communications Senior Manager, Climate and Sustainability, will interface with global and local team members across the company, including leaders of business units and functional leaders (this includes Managing Director and Partners and peers like other managers within the Marketing and Communications function).
