　　This role will guide and support teams dedicated to engineering (hardware and software) and security of AWS infrastructure (e.g., the technology that all AWS cloud services and customers rely upon). Candidates should have experience advising business clients directly on ambiguous and/or complex legal matters and negotiating procurement and licensing agreements, ideally with some experience related to technology. Over time you will learn about the business to understand and anticipate the key risks we face, partner with your clients to develop and execute appropriate mitigation strategies, and ultimately help chart long-term strategy for AWS infrastructure. This Corporate Counsel role can be based in Seattle or Santa Monica.

　　Basic Qualifications

　　• 5 years of experience with law firms, corporations, and/or government agencies

　　• Juris Doctor (JD) and membership in good standing in at least one state bar is required

　　• Team player who can effectively work with and manage business clients, other lawyers, and legal professionals cooperatively and efficiently

　　• Ability to manage a large number and variety of mission-critical projects

　　• Sound and practical business judgment as well as common sense

　　• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

　　Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
