Reference #: R2818Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Coordinator, Directories and Recognitions to join our highly collaborative Business Development team in support of the firm's profile-raising efforts.
Reporting to the Manager, Directories and Recognitions, the Coordinator will help advance the firm's participation in global and national directories. In this integral role in a highly valued process of the firm, you'll work closely with key stakeholders across global jurisdictions, practice arears, and functions of the firm. Your primary responsibilities include writing, editing, and tracking submissions, and communicating the results to the appropriate parties.
This position offers the opportunity to gain the experience, connections, and continuous learning through routine engagement with all levels of the firm's professional staff, lawyers, and leadership, while gaining significant analytical and project management skills.
This role can be based in any one of our Boston, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, or Washington, D.C. offices and offers a flexible hybrid/remote working arrangement.
Key responsibilities:
Drafts and edits directory submissions on deadline, maintaining high writing standards with a journalistic tone, and paying close attention to submission guidelines.
Works with practice group aligned business development personnel to improve and streamline practice group participation in directory submissions.
Organizes and leads calls with partners at the beginning of each directory cycle to build partner relationships, outline the process and key dates, agree to terms of communication and deadlines, provide best practice advice.
Identifies areas of focus and opportunity for directory submissions, including individuals to profile within submissions.
Profiles matters that were included in directory submissions in the firm's experience management system.
Utilizes the firm's experience management system to generate initial matter lists for directory submissions.
Researches and evaluates new directory opportunities.
Coordinates partner interviews, provides interview prep material to partners and coaches partners in directory interview best practices.
Keeps track of post-submission data, including referee response rates.
Follows up with partners post-submission to provide referee templates and keeps lawyers updated on the status of research including start and finish dates.
Creates timelines, manages deadline calendar, and provides reports on the status of submissions.
Analyzes and reports results.
Assists with maintaining templates and process documents for the firm's recognitions efforts.
Compiles peer analysis and historical rankings lists.
Experience and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or related discipline.
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience, preferably in professional, consulting, and/or legal services fields or journalism.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Outstanding editing and writing skills, exceptional attention to detail, strong project management skills, the ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands, and the flexibility to manage demands outside of traditional business hours.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a wide range of individuals.
Exceptional organization and communication skills.
Ability to interpret and transform legal writing into concise, accessible messaging.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and professional publications, prepare business correspondence, proposals and reports, effectively present information to groups of employees, and respond to questions f om employees, managers, clients and vendors.
Advanced arithmetic skills (compute rate, ratio, percent; able to draw and interpret graphs and charts).
Ability to solve practical problems, dealing with a variety of variables where little standardization exists.
Ability to work independently and to coordinate directly with team members inside and outside the department, including with all levels of the firm and external organizations involved in the directory/survey processes.
Strong understanding of the legal media and directories environment.
Discretion in dealing with confidential information.
Excellent interpersonal skills and approach to internal client service.
Prior law firm experience is a plus.

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances.
