The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

  Position Summary

  Reporting to the Senior Assistant Dean in the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), the incumbent provides administrative support and academic record-keeping and reporting for the Master of International Affairs (MIA) and Master of Public Administration (MPA) programs.

  Degree Auditing: Under the direction of the Senior Assistant Dean, conducts graduation audits and certifications (at least three times annually) for a total of at least 800 students. Assists other SIPA student affairs personnel in related training and troubleshooting with respect to degree auditing and any degree auditing software and tools. Accesses electronic MIA and MPA student files and databases to verify completion of language requirements. Acts as liaison with the students, faculty, and administration on all matters relating to the students' progress toward degree completion and serves as a liaison to Columbia's Office of the Registrar. Helps to coordinate the logistics for the School's semiannual registration procedure and troubleshoots registration and degree audit-related issues.

  Wellness and Disability Support: Works closely with OSA Assistant Deans to support the School's student wellness programming, initiatives and training. Works with OSA Assistant Deans, SIPA faculty and Columbia's Office of Disability Services (ODS) to provide classroom and examination accommodation and support for students registered with ODS.

  Communication: Assists and provides administrative support to a team of Assistant Deans and others to communicate curricular policies and procedures to SIPA graduate students using social media, electronic messaging and related strategies.

  Data Analyses and Maintenance: Researches and reports statistics on the student body to relevant SIPA administrative offices. Researches, compiles and distributes student data (including GPAs for students to Academic Warning/Probation) on a semiannual basis. Updates records accordingly in SIS.

  Student Records Monitoring: Monitors the placing and removal of student Dean's Holds and probationary status. Researches and evaluates academic history for inactive student files. Assists in background checks related to student records.

  Dual Degrees: Provides administrative support for domestic and international dual degree programs, including all degrees and programming related to the Global Public Policy Network (GPPN), including communications, auditing, events, reimbursement requests, travel arrangements, etc.

  Student Petitions: Processes requests for advanced standing, incompletes, leaves of absence and withdrawals, and enters results into the Student Information System (SIS) or forms prescribed for these purposes. Follows up with Registrar or other administrative offices as required.

  International Travel: Provides administrative support for the compliance regime for SIPA International Travel Planning and Policy. Duties include reviewing forms submissions and following up with students to track down missing requirements.

  Performs related duties as assigned or requested, including support for student affairs programming and preparation of TBERs.

  Minimum Qualifications

  High school diploma or equivalent required.Must have a minimum of three years' related experience.Must be proficient in MS Office or similar suite of administrative tools, including MS Access.Must have working knowledge of SQL-based query reporting tools.Excellent written/oral communications, and organizational skills essential.Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive materials with discretion and deal effectively with students and relevant administrators throughout the university system.Preferred Qualifications

  College degree strongly preferred.Knowledge of SIS, electronic degree audit reports or similar programs preferred.Familiarity with social media platforms and their use in an administrative workflow strongly preferred.
