Janssen Research & Development, LLC, a division of Johnson & Johnson’s Family of Companies is recruiting for a Co-op/Intern to join the Lentiviral Vector Process Development team within the API Cell and Gene Therapy organization. The position will be based in Spring House, PA and is expected to support the team from June 2024 to December 2024 . The project will involve optimizing transfection conditions of mammalian cultures to improve lentiviral production.
Responsibilities :
Design and execute small-scale experiments using shake flasks and Ambr bioreactors to develop, improve, and optimize transient transfection processes for lentiviral vector manufacturing
Collect, organize, analyze, and present data using statistical software such as Minitab and JMP
Maintain organized records of experiments using an electronic lab notebook
Work both independently and in a team to support project objectives and timelines
Qualifications
Requirements:
Currently a Junior or Senior completing a Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Molecular Biology, or Microbiology
Knowledge of mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique
Interest in the field of cell and gene therapies, such as CAR-T
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized
Strong data management skills and experience with statistical software (including Excel, Minitab, JMP )
Ability to work on-site and in lab environment
Preferred:
Mammalian cell culture experience
Strong grasp of aseptic technique
Experience related to viral vector production (lentivirus, AAV, etc)
Statistical software knowledge (Minitab, JMP)
