Position: Controls Technician
Location: Flint, MI
Job Type: Direct Hire/ Permanent
We are looking for a Controls Technician in the Flint, Michigan area. Known for process stability, efficiency and prolonged service life, you can be a part of a team that develops, produces and installs intelligent automation systems worldwide. You will find their best-in-class systems doing process automation, transport and assembly in automotive, aerospace and a variety of other industries.
Responsibilities for Controls Technician
Responsible for controls systems design, specification, programming, testing, and troubleshooting.
Work with quality engineers and process engineers to implement process improvements for customer satisfaction.
Will work with cross functional teams to solve equipment and customer issues.
Maintain equipment drawings, BOMs, and schematics.
Debug and commission 840D controls system in motion control application.
Cell debug on FLT shop floor and during install full time at customer location.
Must be willing to travel.
Qualifications for Controls Technician
Siemens Step 7 experience, mostly software, hardware
Siemens 840D, mostly software, hardware
Preferred candidate to be able to read AutoCAD and Eplan
Preferred candidate to Technician primary role will be for commissioning program from scratch to asset.
Ability to work flexible hours and work around a changing schedule.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently without much supervision.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job.
Driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to effectively manage time.
