The Controls Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of controls systems in our manufacturing facility. This position develops and implements standard processing procedures in the plant, leads small project teams, and collaborates closely with operations during the design process to troubleshoot and resolve problems during construction or installation.Additional Information:Schedule: Monday - Friday day shift with occasional early mornings and evenings, as neededUtilize Programmable Logic Controls ("PLC") and Human-Machine Interface ("HMI") skills and knowledge to optimize control and quality systemsAnalyze plant processes, design and implement improvementsTroubleshoot issues with hardware and processesOptimize processes to attain lower manufacturing costs, increased productivity, and reduced cycle timesIdentify training needs and develop training and standard operating procedures for employees to ensure effective use of continuous process improvement methodologiesIdentify, communicate, and overcome obstacles that may prohibit meeting production requirementsPartner with operating employees to identify opportunities and improve processes via training or capital expenditure recommendationsMaintain quality and safety standardsMinimum Requirements:Must be at least eighteen (18) years of ageMust be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the futureMust have a bachelor's degree or higher or at least four (4) years of work experience in engineeringMust have at least one (1) year of work experience in a manufacturing, distribution, operations function or have completed a Sherwin-Williams Development Program in an Engineering functionMust have formal training in or at least one (1) year of work experience implementing Programmable Logic Controls ("PLC") and/or Human-Machine Interface ("HMI")Preferred Qualifications:Have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.Have a bachelor's degree or higher in EngineeringHave at least three (3) years of work experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environmentHave at least three (3) years of work experience implementing Programmable Logic Controls ("PLC") and/or Human-Machine Interface ("HMI")Have prior work experience as a Controls Engineer in a manufacturing and/or distribution environmentSherwin-Williams is proud to be an Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Inclusion and Diversity Supportive Employer.
