Based in the Irvine, California area, this opening for a Controller is a permanent position. You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Candidates who can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo, will be preferred for this position. 　　How you will make an impact

　　Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

　　Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

　　Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

　　Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

　　Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

　　Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

　　Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

　　Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

　　Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

　　Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

　　Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time Requirements - Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

　　CPA/MBA preferred

　　Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

　　Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well

　　Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

　　Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

　　Prior work done in public accounting is desired

　　BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

　　Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills

　　Strong attention to detail

　　Strong familiarity with Accounting for Mortgage Bankers (AMB)

　　Knowledge of Retail Mortgage

　　Solid understanding of Mortgage Banking

　　Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

　　Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
