Description This reputable Manufacturing company is seeking a Controller through Robert Half who has a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting and clerical department. The ideal candidate for this position can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. You will succeed in this position if you can lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. What you get to do every day
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities Requirements - Ability to meet deadlines
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
QuickBooks experience
Proven knowledge of Month-end Financial
Asset Inventory experience highly desired
Proficiency in Accounting management
Expertise in manufacturing
General familiarity with Fixed Asset Accounting
Well-founded grasp of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
People Management experience
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
